Experience when you need it most

In 2005 flooding caused havoc in Mumbai, twenty five million people were stranded, hospitals closed, the entire transport infrastructure was paralysed and thousands died. A team from our Training Division Rig Systems visited India and established a complete swiftwater and flood rescue training programme for the Mumbai Fire Service.

First Resilience Consultants designed, planned and implemented the UK response to national flood resilience. This resulted in the procurement of High Volume Pumping equipment and the establishment of operating procedures and training programmes. Since the implementation of this capability the UK Fire and Rescue Service has used these assets extensively in combating flooding incidents in the UK.

First Resilience can assist International Countries within Emergency planning, equipment procurement and training to provide a flood resilience capability to meet the ever increasing risk from natural flood disaster and increasing environmental changes.

Critical Safety Training for Water

First resilience has proven expertise in the development and delivery of critical safety training for the water related response capabilities. By way of example, we have delivered a swift water and flood rescue training programme to London Fire Brigade since 2005. This was recognised internationally in 2006 when the programme development team was honored in the Higgins and Langley Memorial Awards in Swift Water Rescue, the first non-US agency to receive the prestigious award.
